This site is produced by Carl Gilbert, M.D., F.A.C.S.* , a board certified surgeon in private practice in Cincinnati, Ohio (USA).
Dr. Gilbert is also a freelance writer with journalistic experience. He is very much involved in his community and devotes a good part of his times taking care of less fortunate people. He is often on the radio, giving medical advice or talking of issues that create health disparities in America.
Dr. Gilbert likes what he's doing. He has great hope this site will help improving the quality of healthcare for minorities.  Fostering no racial antagonism, he invites everybody to visit the site.

Our goal is to make it larger and as comprehensive as possible, with all the interactive tools capable of bringing you from many different sources a high level of knowledge needed to make you, your children, your families and your fellow citizens, healthier from a physical, mental and social standpoint.  Pursuing that goal, we will have a Chat Room where you can enjoy the company of other Internet surfers, also a Forum Board where you can tackle the burning issues simmering or  making headlines in the US or the world, especially if they impact our daily living or health.

An E-Newsletter will be produced every now and then to keep you abreast of what is happening on the site.  By providing your e-mail address, we are pleased to make this newsletter available to you.  Pursuant to All About Latino Health policy, we will  at all times attempt to keep private and protected any personal information you provide to us.

Why a site about Latino Health?

It was born out of the context in which statistics on Hispanic/Latino health are telling a different story despite multiple medical breakthroughs in research and treatment.

Our site also brings you facts concerning you and your body, in a way that is simple and easy, purely for purposes of information and education, without trying to replace your physician or other advanced sources of info -- even though all of its info will be coming from respectable and expert sources, and from life experiences of folks living in our communities.  All health or medical information will be reviewed by the editor or trained health providers to provide a high level of accuracy.

Objectives:

Even when the larger media coverage stops, the medical and health coverage of this site will continue so the burning issues impacting the Hispanic minorities stay in the forefront.
External links will be used often to provide you with related documentation on subjects discussed on this site.  The views expressed by those linked sites are not necessarily ours, and we assume no responsibility for any inaccuracy they might contain.

Advertisement Policy:   Financial support for AllAboutLatinoHealth.com  through sponsorship or advertisement is welcome and will be sought, in order to sustain the existence of this privately funded site , and to continue offering informative and educational services of excellent quality to our site visitors.

We reserve, however, the rights to reject any ad we believe to be offensive, deceitful, unethical, or infringing upon the privacy of our site visitors.  Our editorial comments will be free of any promotional texts or statements.  The simple fact of accepting those ads does not imply automatic endorsement by Allaboutlatinohealth.com, its writers and staff.   We will make every attempt to correct gross mistakes or obvious grammatical errors in the ads submitted to us.  But people submitting the ads have the primary responsibility to make sure their ads are free of any syntactic errors.  The ads will be placed in a way that users clearly recognize them as ads.  Any ad will be removed from the site if it is shown to be in conflict with our mission, which is to provide health information, products or services that promote the betterment of the lives of our site visitors.

By entering or navigating through www.allaboutlatinohealth.com, you automatically agree to abide by its rules and policies, and to relieve the owners, writers and staff  of any liability to the maximum extent permitted by applicable laws existing in the U.S. or elsewhere.

Finally,  we subscribe to the principles  of  HON for the benefit or well-being of our site visitors, and we hope to be able to obtain membership to Health On The Net.  Thanks.
